A Chill Day in Las Vegas

My second day in Las Vegas was spent hanging out with Emily and Mike, enjoying the peaceful side of the city.

Spartacus looking for cuddles.

Some lovely plants in Emily and Mike’s back yard.

One cactus even had a few feathers stuck on it.

This plant had a few strands that grew in curled while most were flat.

A little bee gathering some pollen.

A refreshing cucumber lemonade and our delicious plate of shrimp at La Mojarra Local Grill.

Getting an afternoon pick-me-up at Sunrise Coffee House.

Emily and Mike are those special kind of people that can turn a trip to Costco into an adventure.

The stunning sunset from Emily and Mike’s backyard.

After the sun went down we took a walk around Echo Trail Park.

The moon sharing the sky with the beam from the Luxor Casino.

Back at home Emily and Mike showed off their wine aerator that looked like Dracula spewing blood.

Emily and Mike also made a fantastic home cooked dinner with steak and sautéed mushrooms.

A perfect end to a relaxing day.

The Neon City

After an incredible afternoon at Red Rock Canyon, Emily and Mike took me out for sushi and a stroll around the Las Vegas Strip.

Sushi Neko is an all you can eat restaurant tucked away in the corner of a plaza. The variety was amazing and the food was phenomenal!

Emily recommended that we visit the Mirage Casino. It was recently bought by Hard Rock International and would be undergoing major renovations soon.

Enjoying our Moscow Mules.

The Volcano Show in front of The Mirage.

The moon over The Venetian.

We took a walk around the Grand Canal Shoppes in The Venetian. Made to resemble the city of Venice, it had its own indoor gondolas and a painted ceiling.

Red Rock Canyon

I was lucky enough to get the chance to visit my best friend Emily and her husband Mike in Las Vegas. It was nothing but wonderful times as soon as they picked me up from the airport.

The view of the mountains from the airport just after sunrise.

After Emily and Mike picked me up they took me out for an amazing breakfast at Rosallie.

A beautiful assortment of pastries.

My rose mocha with a dusting of raspberries.

My delicious ham and cheese croissant sandwich and side salad.

For our first adventure Emily and Mike took me to Red Rock Canyon.

Calico Basin.

The rock in the foreground had some petroglyphs that could be over six thousand years old.

Driving to our next destination. Coming from Florida, it never ceases to amaze me how beautiful the mountains are. The colors and the changing landscapes are just breathtaking.
