The High Ground

I ended up getting rid of a cat bed I had for years. I noticed my cats never used it and I wanted more room for storage. Once the fluffy bed was removed and the storage bins were in place the cats (particularly the boys) couldn’t get enough of their new favorite spot.

Susie Slithers

A while back Rochelle and her husband Justin decided to get a ball python. Her daughter named her Susie Slithers. Here she is enjoying a little adventure outside of her enclosure and around the kitchen table.

Princess

While technically on July 24th, this little princess celebrates two years with me. Enjoying safety, regular feedings, and her favorite spots in the sun.

Dress Up and Tackle Hugs

My friend Amber unfortunately had to put down her beloved dog Lexi. The little black puppy she first brought home when we were roommates back in 2010. Old age and health issues were taking their toll, and Amber reach out to me to watch her kids while she and her husband went to the vet.

I got to her house and she told me about all the treats she spoiled Lexi with that day and we both gave her some love trying to hold back tears. Once they left, my full attention went to the kids. Playtime was just what we all needed.

Elmo is Peyton’s favorite.

Ava and Dipper curled up in my lap while Peyton enjoyed his videos.

At some point Ava decided she wanted to change into her princess dress. A child after my own heart.

And I can’t resist Peyton’s hugs.

He is such a cutie.

Mount Charleston

For the final day of my trip to Las Vegas we visited Mount Charleston and the surrounding area.

Mike and Emily on one of the trails up the mountain.

The charred remains of a tree that had been in a recent forest fire.

Emily and Mike enjoying the view.

A small patch of snow.

The beautiful surface of a rock.

The mountains across from the Visitor Center.

Some of the lovely views of the desert as we drove home.

For dinner that night Emily and Mike made a lovely home cooked diner with marinated chicken, avocado, sweet potato, and a salad.
