Glitzy

The holidays came with some fun opportunities to sparkle for the swing dances.

I wore some royal blue for the Christmas dance.

Myself with Jacky and Heather. We know how to light up the room!

An incredible dress I found for $40 at Ross! It needed to be hemmed but it was perfect for the Roaring 20’s dance in January.

The dress after it was hemmed and with all the accessories.

I also got to wear my grandmother’s bracelet. It is costume jewelry and it’s missing a few stones, but I have always loved it. It was the first time I ever wore it out.

Greeting the Eternal City

For years I had been trying to get my family to go on a trip. After much planning and preparation I finally got my wish. We headed to Europe for a Mediterranean cruise. My family and I got to Rome a few days early to explore this incredible city.

Myself, mom, and dad on the flight.

Seeing the first bits of tall grass coming into Rome.

Myself and dad on the train.

Getting to see remnants of old Roman walls next to the graffiti of a modern city.

An old section of a Roman wall just outside the Termini Station.

The Basilica del Sacro Cuore di Gesù.

The lovely view from our hotel window. You can see mountains very faintly in the distance.

My parents and sisters getting ready to explore Rome.

More sections of old Roman walls. Just so incredible to see tangible pieces of history all over the city.

Trimaris Memorial Tournament 2023

A lovely day at the Trimaris Memorial Tournament.

Myself and Rochelle. She had been coming to our weekly fighter practice for about a year, but this was her first SCA event.

Will getting authorization to fight in tournaments.

Myself, Tiger, and Rochelle.

Since it was Rochelle’s first event I got to walk her into court. The court likes to recognize everyone who came for the first time and offer some gifts to choose from. Rochelle picked a lovely ceramic mug.

Late into the evening Oskar (Keith H.) hosted a secret fencing tournament. Brian competing against Octavian (Johann).
